Thanks to the amazing development of tablet technology, it is now possible to emulate popular old school gaming titles on your Android tablet using the latest emulator apps. There are numerous emulator apps available on the Google Play app store, with popular emulators including VGBA and Mojo Free Emulator.

For the purpose of loading up old Game boy advance games such as Pokemon Emerald, Leaf Green, Fire Red etc., the most suitable emulator is VGBA.

The VGBA emulator is available on the Google Play App store for a small price of 4.99, but when compared to other emulators available for free on the Google Play App store, it is clear that this small fee is worth it. For 4.99 you get one of the most stable Game Boy Advance emulators available for Android today, letting you load Roms of your favourite old school games to play.

Get Pokemon on Your Android Tablet

Step 1

First, you need to get your hands on an Android device. I have been testing this emulator on the Android 4.0 Dark Fantasy Tablet and have found amazing success. The tablet itself works well and has a nice responsive touch screen, while the emulator runs smoothly and without any issues.

Step 2

You need to load up the Google Play App store and download an emulator of your choice. As mentioned previousl, VGBA is recommended for Game Boy Advance emulation however other emulators are also available for games designed for NES, N64 and more.

Step 3

Now comes the controversial bit. It is technically illegal to download ROMs of copyrighted titles such as Pokemon or other popular titles. Time Wasters Online therefore does not promote the downloading of ROM or provide links to any ROM downloads. Nothing that a google search can’t fix.

Step 4

If you do happen to get your hands on some ‘legal’ roms, the next step would be to get those roms onto your android device. The easiest way would be to directly download them to your device using the android browser. Once downloaded, make sure that your download is not in ZIP format and has been extracted. Finally, open up VGBA or your chosen emulator and load up your Rom for some awesome old school gaming!
